Monmouth
Spine and Rehabilitation Center offers a full range of massage
services with our in-house Red Bank massage therapist. The
benefits of massage therapy are plentiful. A massage relaxes
muscles, easing and soothing aches and pains. It rejuvenates
and restores balance to our body and being, making us better
for all things life throws our way.
Massage
therapy can help in treating numerous conditions and injuries.
For example, many types of back pain
can be treated with massage therapy. A

number of Monmouth County doctors have referred their patients
with back pain to our massage practice in Red Bank New Jersey.
Patients come to Monmouth Spine and Rehabilitation Center
complaining about back muscle issues including tightness and
spasms. Our massage therapy programs will pinpoint the muscle
issues and put you back on the path of feeling better.

Massage
Therapy and Circulation
Our
Red Bank massage therapist also helps our patients with improving
blood circulation. Massage treatment will allow blood to flow easier
throughout the body while simultaneously moving toxins and waste
away from critical regions including the organs and muscles. Another
great result from effective massage therapy is that it could lower
blood pressure over time. Lowering blood pressure is especially
important for our patients with heart conditions and pulmonary diseases.
Improving
Range of Motion with Massage
Massage
therapy will help patients increase their range of motion. Whether
due to age, injury, or just plain lack of movement, the body’s
tendons, ligaments, and muscles begin to tighten up. This gradual
tightening of our body creates a loss in motion and in-turn disables
us from doing things we enjoy. Massage therapy at Monmouth Spine
and Rehabilitation Center helps patients regain that motion and
give back the ability to live life to its fullest. Our therapists
will work on restoring that range of motion by implementing techniques
that will help promote circulation that serves to provide natural
lubricants between joints and muscles. Our Red Bank massage therapists
will also work on stretching muscles and tendons to revitalize the
body and return original flexibility and movement. By keeping our
bodies flexible and loose, we can prevent a lot of potential injuries
and maintain our body’s health and wellness.
Headaches,
Depression and Anxiety Relief through Massage
Depression
and anxiety pose real problems to both our mental and physical health.
Both of these disorders can lead to stress, fatigue, and even make
us more susceptible to disease by decreasing the strength of our
immune system. Scientific studies have shown that massage therapy
can help build our immune systems by increasing our body’s
levels of cells that act as our first line of defense against viruses.
Many of our patients at Monmouth Spine and Rehabilitation Center
have stated that receiving massage therapy at our Red Bank facility
allows them to feel more relaxed and healthy during their week.
These patients have also mentioned that their newly found relaxation
helps them cope and release their feelings of anxiety that have
stricken them in the past.
Headaches
can also be disabling for an individual. Many of our patients at
Monmouth Spine and Rehabilitation Center have come to us with excruciating
tension headaches, migraines, and headaches resulting from lack
of sleep or poor diet. Research proves a direct relationship between
neck pain and headaches. Massage can be an excellent therapeutic
method to heal these types of headaches. Massage therapy relaxes
muscles. This relaxed state will ease the tightness and pressures
built up in our bodies that help create headaches.
Massage
Therapy after Surgery and Injury
“Many
of our patients have told us that they were under the impression
that surgery alone would fix everything. Many have underestimated
the rehabilitation process that comes along with that path.”
– Thomas Dandrea, DC.
Rehabilitation
after an injury or surgery can take a long period of time to take
lasting effect. We at Monmouth Spine and Rehabilitation Center feel
that a very effective approach to numerous types of rehabilitation
is to implement a segment of massage therapy in our patient’s
recovery process. Our Red Bank massage therapists have been integrated
into numerous patient rehabilitation programs for sports injuries,
post-operative surgeries on the back and extremities, and even in
the case of injuries obtained in day to day accidents such as auto
accidents and workplace mishaps. Massage therapy can play an important
piece to the rehabilitation process by promoting the body’s
muscle and joint movement as well as making the body’s muscles
and organs more receptive to nutrients such as minerals and vitamins.

Our
Red Bank Massage Therapists at Monmouth Spine and Rehabilitation
Center offer a number of Massage therapies including:
Swedish
Massage: This type of massage is one of the most
common and popular massage therapies available. Swedish massage
utilizes five different massage techniques. The first technique
used is called effleurage, also known as the “light
touch” technique. This technique is used to prepare
the muscles for deeper tissue massage. The second technique
in a Swedish massage is kneading which is the first step in
beginning to work the deeper tissues during the session. The
third technique is friction where the palms of the hands are
used in a circular motion to release pressure in the muscles.
Vibration is the fourth technique in a Swedish massage and
percussion is the fifth which is light tapping on the patient’s
body.
Deep Muscle Tissue Massage: Our Red Bank
massage therapists at Monmouth Spine and Rehabilitation Center
use deep tissue massages to work deeper muscles and connective
tissue in the effort to realign these muscles and relieve
deep pressure and tension that is commonly formed. Deep tissue
massages are very often used on the neck, shoulders, and back.
This type of massage focuses on these deeper muscles and alleviates
pain and discomfort that is created from a variety of problems
including Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, and injuries from accidents.

Myofascial
Release: This form of massage is very beneficial for alleviating
pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial Release therapy
is based on the understanding of the body’s fascial system.
Fascia is like a sweater-woven muscle system within our bodies.
This form of massage therapy focuses on this system and utilizes
techniques to relax this group of muscles and promote a better range
of motion and remove pain caused by tightness, pressure build-up,
scarring, and more. The fascial system is interwoven throughout
our body so any tightness, strain, or pull in this system can inadvertently
affect every part of our body and create an array of symptoms and
issues. Myofascial Release will eradicate those problems in the
fascial system and help you return back to a healthy life.
Massage
Therapy Can Help Many Types of Conditions
Massage
Therapy at our Red Bank Wellness Facility is designed to provide
relief for many different types of conditions ranging from musculoskeletal
problems like low back pain, neck pain, and shoulder pain to stress
management and energy balance. Our Red Bank massage therapists treat
many different types of pain conditions every day.
Monmouth
County Frozen Shoulder Syndrome Treatment and Myofascial Release
Massage Technique
Frozen
Shoulder Syndrome is a complicated condition that can have an underlying
metabolic cause such as diabetes or metabolic syndrome. It can be
caused from a chronically pinched nerve in the neck and/or the shoulder.
Regardless of the cause, our Monmouth County massage therapists
are trained to treat Frozen Shoulder Syndrome. The best massage
approach to the Frozen Shoulder Syndrome is through a technique
called Myofascial Release. This technique uses manual sustained
pressure at different key points on the muscle until the tight and
taut muscle band releases and softens. Sustained pressure is used
from 10 seconds to as long as 60 seconds per muscle point. This
is based on the work of Dr. Janet Travell, M.D. Dr. Travell used
this technique to treat President John F. Kennedy’s severe
chronic low back condition.
Massage
Therapy at our Red Bank Rehabilitation Center to Treat Low Back
Pain
There
are many causes of low back pain. Regardless of the cause, treating
your back pain with massage therapy
will help. Massage therapy will help low back pain for several reasons.
First of all, it will improve circulation in the muscle. By improving
circulation, new fresh blood will flow through the painful area
in the muscle and replace the inflammation and swelling in the area.
The improved circulation will reduce the pain. Second, by treating
the area of pain naturally with manual massage, the muscle will
respond by loosening and increased flexibility will follow. In other
words, massage therapy will help you move better.
